Barrier Plastics, a U.S. producer of Quoral Barrier Resin (BR) Baritainers and a four-year-old company, has launched its sustainable packaging products, and is also starting the production of a new UN Rated 20L jerrican consisting of hazardous and corrosive chemicals.
The sustainable packaging alternative eliminates possible failures of lined steel containers and fluorinated packaging and at the same time reduces the carbon footprint of the product.
The Baritainers are effective as a result of a combination of proprietary production process and Quoral BR. Polyamide (PA) is extended into thin lamellas within a High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) matrix by processing under precise conditions in specially adapted extrusion equipment, thus producing a mono-layer barrier. The discontinuous lamellas of PA serve as a barrier to several chemicals.
The new 20L Baritainer jerrican adopts a brand new design with a 70 mm wide neck, and integrates 5% Quoral BR50. In addition to this, it includes other features such as an enlarged handle area to insert large and gloved hands, an engineered bottom seam to increase seal integrity, engineered dimpled corners to improve drop performance, and a vent feature with SP-410 thread. The jerrican is FDA compliant.
The recyclable 20L Baritainer jerrican has 5.2 gallon capacity, width of 10.1'', length of 10.9" and height of 14'3". It also features a 70 mm tamper-evident screw cap closure with 3/4 NPT Center Reducer.
