PolyOne, a supplier of specialized polymer materials, solutions and services, has reported that the company plans to expand its presence in South Africa.
The new plant is situated in the Montague Gardens industrial precinct in Cape Town and will assist customers residing all over Africa.
The company will primarily provide additives, liquid colorants and dosing equipment to support newly purchased ColorMatrix technology. Customers have been using dosing equipment to manufacture PET container products for the personal care and beverage markets. The company is expecting to open this new plant in August 2012. The on-site color laboratory in the facility can offer services like technical support, sales and rapid color advancement.
According to PolyOne’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, Robert M. Patterson, the company with the acquisition of ColorMatrix technology in 2011 is committed to an international strategy of ‘invest to grow’, which can add value to the shareholders and customers. This new South Africa facility has shown the company’s commitment towards this global strategy, Patterson stated.
He added that the company’s operations will concentrate primarily on ColorMatrix services and products, and this gives an exceptional foothold to the company to support its other services and businesses all over the area in the future.
The headquarters of PolyOne is located outside Cleveland in Ohio. The company purchased ColorMatrix Group, which is a provider of additive technologies and liquid colorants.
