KEMET Launches New Series of Capacitors

KEMET has launched a new series of polyester and polypropylene radial film capacitors dubbed the KEMET F-Series. The company specializes in producing capacitors based on numerous materials such as ceramic, tantalum, film, aluminum, electrolyte and paper.

The new series of capacitors are suitable for application in multiple industries including transportation, lighting, industrial and consumer appliances and alternative energy segments.

Andrew Bellavia, the Director of Product Marketing for Film and Electrolytic Capacitors at KEMET, stated that the KEMET F-Series are characterized by superior electrical performance, small size and good self-healing property. He also said that customers who develop their products under conditions of high temperature and high AC voltages would find the new set of capacitors to be of significant interest.

The F611-F612 and the F622 Series Metalized polyester Film capacitors can operate under standard temperature conditions of 105°C and elevated temperature of 125°C. The F622 Series is considered to be appropriate for automotive applications and other applications operating at high temperatures. The F461-464 Series Single Metalized Polypropylene Film is available with four-section construction in order to fulfill the high voltage needs of current-day lighting ballasts. They are also suitable for application in industrial power equipment, H/EV control and charger electronics and alternative energy generation. They are ideal for audio applications too owing to their frequency response and stability.
