Camstar Semiconductor Suite to Substitute EMCORE Legacy Systems

Camstar Systems has declared that EMCORE, a manufacturer of compound semiconductor-based subsystems and components for the solar power and fiber-optics markets, will substitute a number of legacy manufacturing systems with the Camstar Enterprise Platform, which comprises Quality Management, Manufacturing Execution (MES), Statistical Process Control and more.

The solution will help in the simplification of inherent system complexities in the operation of EMCORE’s advanced cell and wafer processing, test and panel and assembly manufacture.

According to the VP and GM of EMCORE, Brad Clevenger, the company’s customers depend on photovoltaic technology in order to drive critical space operations. Camstar will help in rapidly developing customized products which meet sensitive requirements and constantly enhance business performance through efficient operations.

The VP of IT for EMCORE, Mike Brown said that with Camstar a large number of dissimilar applications can be substituted with a flexible, single platform. The IT architecture is simplified and support efforts are minimized while enhancing flexibility and responsiveness to change.

Lawson Hise, IT Manager, Software Development stated that his previous experience with Camstar provides confidence that this implementation will be quick and successful.

Executive Vice President for Camstar, Rob Rudder stated that Camstar’s enterprise Manufacturing platform offers EMCORE more agility, enabling quick product builds according to defined customer specifications, at the same time making sure that rigorous quality standards are met. He added that the company will help EMCORE in the deployment of a flexible and modern manufacturing infrastructure that can meet expanding business needs.
