At the FAKUMA trade fair, ProTec Polymer Processing, a provider of machines and complete system solutions for material handling in various types of plastic treatment processes, will be showcasing comprehensive solution concepts for cost-effective, efficient and flexible plant engineering for PET recycling, and material handling for plastics processing applications.
ProTec Polymer Processing will also be highlighting a high-performance conveying machine controller, a new gravimetric batch dosing system, and D600 series frame sizes for stationary SOMOS material drying systems. The company will also present its patented OHL process for treating used PET bottles into R-PET.
The company’s SOMOS BB 150 batch dosing machine is a new dosing and mixing system that is designed for extruding as well as for injection moulding machines. It can be operated in overfeeding mode for multi-component mixtures. It has a throughput of around 150 kg/h and supports up to four free-flowing components. It can be mounted on to a processing machine’s material feeder. SOMOS suction conveyors can be added for filling the material tank automatically.
The MH 5 conveyor system control can be used as single or multiple-feed systems. Multiple conveyor units up to 12 in number can be linked as a network, and one of these stations can be designated as the master function station.
A rotation reactor for post-condensation of polyesters and polyamides is s critical part of the OHL tumble reactor. This reactor enables both decontamination and post-condensation processes that are important for attaining R-PET from used PET bottles.
