SPI, the plastics industry trade association in the U.S., conducts the NPE triennial international plastics exposition. The NPE2015 is to take place in March, 2015 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). The SPI will be offering on-site ‘mission control centers’ to the buying teams of brand owners and OEMs.
The free resource centers are a new initiative from the SPI. The NPE2012 event had attracted 1,933 exhibitors and 55,359 participants, of whom a significant proportion was from outside the U.S. The brand owners in this event were international companies in various industries such as medical, electronics, automotive and packaging. The buying teams to be sent by brand owners for NPE2015 may range in size from as small as 10 members to as large as 90 members. In international teams, it is possible that the members may not have met each other before. These buying teams have the common goal of discovering new technologies and opportunities for their companies.
The OCCC has extensive meeting facilities. SPI will be providing free resource centers for use by buying teams at the OCCC. The brand owners will be offered their own meeting rooms, which they can use as their team resource center and headquarters. These facilities will contain resources including internet access, workspace and refreshments.
The President and CEO of SPI, William R. Carteaux stated that these ‘mission control centers’ will enable brand owners to maximize their return on investment for participating in the NPE2015.
SPI will be providing details of the new initiative during the Fakuma 2012 event.
