FRX Polymers has signed a multi-year agreement with Americhem for the exclusive distribution rights of FRX Polymer’s new polymer called FRX 100 in Turkey and Western Europe. FRX 100 is a non-halogen flame retardant polymer.
The new product belongs to the environment friendly class of intrinsically flame retardant polymers manufactured and promoted by FRX Polymers. The market for FRX Polymer products is in the growth phase with applications for the products expanding, especially in carpeting and textiles industries. Americhem caters globally to the synthetic fibers industry through its customized masterbatches range suitable for manufacturers of synthetic fibers.
Marc Lebel, President and CEO of FRX Polymers stated that their relationship with Americhem is strong owing to their close collaboration for numerous years and that Americhem’s prominent presence in the fibers market makes them an ideal partner for FRX Polymers. Dave Bouton, Vice President of business development at Americhem expressed his pleasure at Americhem’s partnership with FRX Polymers. He remarked upon the convenience facilitated by the availability of the distinctive flame retardant additives produced by FRX Polymers in pellet form and stated that their ability to be melt processed makes them ideal for melt spinning into fiber resins like polyester.
FRX Polymers was established in 2007 after intensive research and development for a period of five years in the area of intrinsically flame retardant plastics. The company possesses a polymer pilot facility in Switzerland and two pilot facilities at Chelmsford in Massachusetts. FRX is expected to commence operations at its first commercial facility located at Antwerp in Belgium.
