The COMPOSITES EUROPE 2012 is the European Trade Fair and Forum for Composites, Technology and Applications. It has been conducted from 2006, and presents the latest machinery, technologies and services that are used in the composites process chain. This year’s event is being held from 9 to 11 October in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Leading companies including Dieffenbacher, Siempelkamp, KraussMaffei, Hennecke, Dassault Systems, CFK Valley Stade, Mapal, BÜFA, IKV Aachen, and RH Schneidtechnik are participating in the event.
The title of the forum this year is "Process stages towards mass production" under the topic of "automation". It will be chaired by the VDMA Composite Technology Forum. In the Product Demonstration Area, exhibitors will hold live demonstrations of newly developed processes and products. The main topic of exhibition will be automated production. IKV Aachen will be presenting 3D fibre spraying using thermoplastic hybrid yarns. This will allow production of three-dimensional near-net-shape preforms in which the characteristic profiles can be adjusted. Textile-reinforced composite materials from the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology of TU Dresden will be highlighted, while automated cutting of composite materials will be displayed by RH Schneidtechnik.
Dieffenbacher will be presenting advancements in fully automated preform process for producing complex parts. A Preform Centre for completely automated production of 3D preforms using carbon fibres has been developed by the company. Hennecke will be talking on "High Pressure meets lightweight." It will present new RTM process technology that involves quick injection of reactive mixture into cavities. KraussMaffei will be speaking about the manufacture of high-performance fiber composite parts in an economically efficient manner using RTM processes. Siempelkamp will be presenting developments on its press technology for high end composite production.
