Genevac, a provider of evaporators for removal of solvents, has announced that it has developed a novel evaporation system that addresses problems associated with traditional rotary evaporators.
The Rocket high speed evaporation system is designed for productive drying applications of natural product extractions in a safe manner.A new web microsite for the Rocket system has been launched by Genevac. The site demonstrates the functioning of the evaporation system.
In order to dry natural product extracts, rotary evaporators have been generally used. These evaporators have certain negative factors. These systems take a long time for drying. Further, contamination problems also occur due to bumping of solvents and foaming of certain samples. Many times, the samples stick on to the rotary evaporator flask’s walls. These have to be scraped by the scientists after drying.
The new Rocket high speed evaporation system has been developed by Genevac utilizing its experience of more than 20 years in the field. It addresses the issues faced in using traditional rotary evaporator systems. The elegant solution has the capacity to evaporate a maximum of six flasks in parallel. Further, the extracts are dried directly into a vial, which enables easy removal of the samples.
Genevac's patented technology is used in the Rocket high speed evaporation system. It avoids foaming and bumping. Genevac's proprietary SampleGenie technology avoids losses during transfer of samples and also the need for scraping of flasks.
