Chemicals manufacturer, Oxea has completed the construction of its new facility for manufacturing specialty esters labeled “Ester 2” at Oberhausen right on schedule. The completion of the new plant construction is deemed to be a significant milestone for Oxea.
The company will soon initiate activities pertaining to commencement of production at the new plant. The advanced ester production facility is expected to enhance Oxea’s global manufacturing capacity of specialty esters by more than 50%. The total number of specialty ester production plants for Oxea now stands at three with a fourth one still under construction in China.
Numerous advanced industrial products that find application in medical, architectural and automotive industries employ specialty esters. In the wake of completion of the Ester 2 facility, Miguel Mantas, Sales and Marketing in-charge within the Executive Board of Oxea stated that there has been a steady rise in global demand for the specialty esters produced by Oxea and that the new manufacturing plant will contribute to their delivery capabilities in support of their customer’s growth. Oxea will manufacture critical components needed for making novel polymer films which are in great demand in the chemicals market.
Oxea produces oxo intermediates and oxo derivates like polyols, alcohols, specialty esters, carboxylic acids and amines. The products find application in lubricants, fragrances, cosmetics, flavorings, coatings, plastics, printing inks, pharmaceutical products and coatings. Oxea employs 1,365 resources across offices in Asia, Europe and the Americas. The company reported revenue of value EUR 1.5 billion for the year 2011.
