SABIC Awarded for Value Addition to Bimodal HDPE Pressure Pipes

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), a leading petrochemicals company, has been awarded the 2012 European Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Enhancement.

Every year, Frost & Sullivan presents the award in honor of companies spanning geographies for exemplary performance in customer service, innovation, product development and leadership that generate value for their customers and enable them to secure a return on their investments in their services and products.

SABIC produces polypropylene, polyethylene, methanol, glycols and thermoplastics amongst other petrochemical products. The award recognizes in particular, SABIC’s polyolefin solutions that specifically cater to the pressure pipe market. The Vestolen A RELY bimodal HDPE product line from SABIC is a typical illustration of the company’s unique approach of working in conjunction with customers to design products that fulfill their unmet requirements. The SABIC Vestolen A RELY line of products not only combine the company’s expertise in extrusion, resin and catalyst technologies to optimize customer operating efficiency and production capacity but also helps them cut down on their carbon footprints while manufacturing pipes. The company adopts a solution design approach that targets the entire value chain rather than just the specifications of the product in focus.

Designing and developing customized solutions has enabled the company to adapt its efforts for the bimodal HDPE pipe market in line with the prevailing trends in the water and energy industries. This has helped SABIC to consolidate its standing in these mature markets.

SABIC registered revenues valued at US$ 50.64 billion and net profit of US$ 7.80 billion in 2011.
