Sonoco has introduced a new line of insulated pallet shippers through its unit, ThermoSafe brands. The polyurethane-insulated temperature assurance shippers are meant for sale in Europe and United States for use in bulk supply of pharmaceutical products and biotechnology products.
Labeled as the ThermoSafe SPS Series Pallet Shippers, products are designed to be easy to assemble and offer off-the-shelf expediency apart from fulfilling the distinct requirements of precious life science products.
Vicki Arthur, Vice President of the North America based Protective Packaging division of Sonoco, cited the beneficial features of the ThermoSafe SPS Series Pallet Shippers due to which they are perfectly suited for bulk transport of biological products and third party transportation without having to change the configuration of the packaging as per the seasons. The patented SonoPost components from Sonoco have been deployed in the ThermoSafe SPS Series Pallet Shippers to impart structural stability and allow flow of air to refrigerants at the top and bottom. The temperature assurance shippers can be assembled within 15 minutes as there are only few components for packing.
The new temperature assurance family of shippers is being showcased along with other off-the-shelf advanced temperature-assurance products such as the patented Certis, Green Box and Envoy products at the IQPC Cold Chain Conference held from September 25 to 27 at the McCormick Place in Chicago. At the conference, ThermoSafe will deliver a workshop on thermal design and modeling. In addition, a case study on design of pallet shippers for international logistics will be presented by ThermoSafe in conjunction with Abbott Labs.
