AFP, a provider of advanced, cost-effective engineered packaging solutions for high-tech companies such IBM, HP, Flextronics, Dell, and Acer, has expanded its operations into China through the establishment of a new subsidiary, AFP China.
AFP China, headquartered in Shanghai, China, will work together with AFP Austin for designing, engineering and sourcing eco-friendly packaging solutions for businesses catering to the local Chinese market and international businesses with production base in China. The AFP China team will also exploit AFP’s vast experience in supply chain management to enhance inventory management and efficiency in the Chinese packaging supply chain.
AFP will expand the adoption of its production technology and processes by partnering with key Chinese packaging suppliers to optimize quality and efficiency through automation and modernization.
AFP’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim O'Hearn commented that besides extending the company’s capability to serve its current customer base of major high-tech companies, the new Chinese business also paves the way to new opportunities to deliver the company’s advanced packaging designs and production technology to the largest packaging market of the world. It also exploits the company’s supplier relationships to extend its eco-friendly, cost-efficient packaging solutions all across the world.
AFP China’s General Manager, Jodie Zhang informed that the presence of engineering teams on both corners of the world will allow the company to deliver collaborative design and engineering capabilities throughout the year, and packaging solutions based on the requirement of customers.
