Kraton Performance Polymers, Inc., a leading global producer of styrenic block copolymers and other engineered polymers is pleased to announce its sponsorship and participation in the "Advances in Materials and Processes for Polymeric Membrane Mediated Water Purification," workshop sponsored by the American Chemical Society (ACS). The event will be held at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California from February 24-27, 2013.
The purpose of the workshop is to unite a broad range of stakeholders in the area of membranes for water purification including representatives from government, academia, and industry. This collaboration should foster constructive dialogue and global information sharing between leading research scientists and engineers to stimulate collaborative research on critical water purification challenges.
Dr. Carl Willis and Dr. Shawn Wei of Kraton Polymers will present a paper entitled, "Selectively Mid-block Sulfonated Pentablock Copolymer Membranes," on February 25, 2013 at 2:15 p.m. They will outline the relationship between the NEXAR™ Polymers' structure in solvent, and performance of the cast NEXAR polymer membrane in various water treatment applications. NEXAR Polymers, manufactured by Kraton Performance Polymers, help designers develop water management systems that effectively remove impurities, toxins, metals, and other contaminants from many natural water resources, in addition to effluent water from industrial manufacturing plants to make them suitable for use or reuse.
To register for the workshop please visit the ACS website. For information about NEXAR Polymers, please visit the NEXAR Polymers website. Media inquiries should be directed to Marcie Coronado , Marketing Communications Manager, at 281-504-4975, or via email at [email protected].
