GKN Sinter Metals' state-of-the-art production facility in Bad Brückenau, Germany, has delivered its fifty-millionth synchronizer hub.
Synchronizer hubs are the core product for the shifting mechanism in all double clutch and manual transmissions. For over 20 years GKN Sinter Metals has specialised in precision synchronizer hubs made by conventional powder metallurgy technology, which has proven to be the premier solution for this transmission component and has facilitated improvements in performance while also reducing weight.
GKN utilizes specialized high volume production processes with streamlined manufacturing concepts and optimized workflows to produce each synchronizer hub. Combining this process with a highly skilled workforce has allowed GKN to provide flawless products to a number of global automotive OEM and Tier1 customers for the past 20 years. "Our ability to produce high quality parts for this period of time shows that our employees pride themselves on the work they do and strive to not only meet but exceed our customers' requirements," explains Stefan Zeier, Plant Manager of the Bad Brückenau plant.
GKN also produces synchronizer hubs in its facilities in Danyang, China; Hortolandia, Brazil; and Pimpri, India. GKN's goal is to build on this success and aims to further expand production capacities and technological expertise to strengthen its position as global market leader.
