Chemetall, a global leader and innovator in pretreatment chemistry, announced the approval of Oxsilan 9810/2 for Federal Specification TT-C-490, Type IV on abrasive blasted steel. This means that for the first time, there is a viable replacement for zinc phosphate for the military.
This accomplishment comes after the completion of a testing program, initiated in 2009, which included testing for adhesion, flexibility, water resistance, salt spray, cyclic corrosion, outdoor exposure and hydrogen embrittlement.
Oxsilan 9810/2 is phosphorous-free and is completely free of any regulated heavy metals so it’s environmentally-friendly. The versatile technology is also available in a convenient ready-to-use formula for simplicity.
