STATS ChipPAC Honors Advantest with Best Supplier Award

Semiconductor test equipment leader Advantest Corporation has received the Best Supplier Award from Singapore-based STATS ChipPAC Ltd., a leading provider of advanced semiconductor packaging and test services. Advantest won this year's award by unanimous decision of the judges and now has earned this supplier recognition every year since 2007.

"In 2012, STATS ChipPAC continued to strengthen our leadership position in advanced packaging technologies, which has enabled us to gain significant traction in a number of key programs with market leaders in the mobile space," said Wan Choong Hoe, executive vice president and chief operating officer, STATS ChipPAC. "It is our pleasure to recognize Advantest's achievements and we appreciate their ability to consistently deliver quality and responsive services that help us deliver on our commitments to our customers."

The Best Supplier Award is STATS ChipPAC's highest honor recognizing material and equipment suppliers for distinguished service and performance. The award is judged on how well a supplier performs in terms of quality, on-time delivery, technology, service, responsiveness and cost competitiveness.

Advantest earned the award on the strength of its fast turnaround time and services, which include fast response to short lead-times, demand upsides and schedule changes. In presenting the award, STATS ChipPAC also expressed its appreciation of Advantest's field service support team for keeping its installed testers running at optimal production conditions.

"This award exemplifies our company-wide dedication to helping our customers succeed by delivering the industry's best service, support and product quality," said Haruo Matsuno, president and chief executive officer of Advantest Corporation.

This award from STATS ChipPAC is the latest industry honor earned by Advantest this year. The company also ranked among the 10 BEST Suppliers of semiconductor production equipment for 2013 in an industry survey conducted by VLSIresearch and received Texas Instruments' 2012 Supplier Excellence Award in April. In May, Advantest's president and CEO, Haruo Matsuno, received the ACE (Annual Creativity in Electronics) Award for Executive of the Year from semiconductor industry journals EE Times and EDN.
