Haldex relocates the UK Engineering activities and will open a new Research and Development Centre of Excellence at the MIRA Technology Park, near Nuneaton in Warwickshire, UK. The new R&D centre is due to be complete during Q3, 2014.
The new UK R&D Centre in close proximity to the Birmingham area will provide global platform designs for advanced vehicle braking and stability solutions to the commercial vehicle industry and will have unique focused Research and Development facilities offering full design, development, simulation activities and multiple test track facilities / surfaces. The new bespoke facility will house a fully equipped state of the art design and simulation centre, full validation laboratory with integrated Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) facilities and a series of garage workshops housing multiple development vehicles.
The new MIRA Technology Park development was granted an Enterprise Zone Status in 2011. MIRA offers a unique technology based arena within the transport sector and provides a perfect location for Haldex to site its new R&D Centre. The new Technology Park will create a high quality working environment providing a competency shift to improve Haldex competitiveness whilst fostering innovation. Furthermore the close proximity of the MIRA operation will allow Haldex to expand its Engineering capabilities through a network of specialist services.
Whilst providing global platform designs the new centre will also be pivotal in providing technical guidance and leadership to a number of Application Design Centers within Asia and the Americas, who will provide local market support.
