Starfire Systems, Inc., a leader in the field of Polymer-to-Ceramic™ technology, is pleased to announce the development of a new and novel family of inorganic oxide forming polymers. These SOL-GEL based materials are designed to form metallic-oxide ceramics composites and oxidation protective coatings for metals.
These new polymers are solid at room temperature, but are soluble in water and alcohol making them usable as coatings or slurries and ideal for fabrication of oxide ceramic components or coatings for metal parts in various industries such as turbine engines and aircraft hot structures.
"This unique chemistry is different from the traditional SOL-GEL chemistry often associated with a short shelf life. Our technologists have created systems which allow users to produce parts themselves in their own shops, instead of buying finished products from other suppliers. Because of this approach, Starfire Systems enables users to produce proprietary components giving them a competitive edge in their specific market," said David Devor, CEO of Starfire Systems Inc.
"We are excited about where this technology can be used. Our technologists foresee producing custom formulations for various customers based on the application, and even assisting in the process development wherever we can," continues Devor.
