ThyssenKrupp Plastics Announces Extension of Wood-Plastic Composites Range for Decking

TimberTech® decking gives patios and balconies a natural look. With its fine-textured and grained surface, the modern wood-plastic composite (WPC) combines the appearance of wood with the durability of plastic.

The decking is available from ThyssenKrupp Plastics as of June 2014. Jens Dahm, product manager at ThyssenKrupp Plastics, reports: “The WPC market has grown rapidly in the past few years. With this extension to our range we want to offer our customers additional and above all easy-to-install solutions for their patio or balcony. At the same time we are hoping to attract potential new customers.”

One special feature of TimberTech® decking is its ease of installation. The boards can be fastened directly to a wooden sub-frame without pre-drilling. If the sub-frame cannot be fixed to the ground, for example on a balcony, floating installation is also possible. Moreover, the decking is extremely low-maintenance and weather-resistant, capable of withstanding persistent rain and hot sun without warping. The materials come with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty. With protective polymer capping, such as on Earthwood EvolutionsTM Terrain, the boards are also stain-resistant – stains can be simply wiped away.

Range extended
The ThyssenKrupp Plastics range includes three types of decking: solid-core ReliaBoardTM, in roughly the same price segment as hollow-core boards, TwinFinishTM, which is particularly easy to install, and solid-core Earthwood EvolutionsTM Terrain, which gives stains no chance.
