Where will your watch take you? Climb higher, go further, dive deeper, and see brighter! No more limitations with your watch!
One of the most important aspects of a 'no limitations' watch is its durability. From its very founding, ArmourLite Watch Company set out to eliminate the weaknesses inherent in other tactical watches. To do so, ArmourLite began by challenging a specialty glass manufacturer to adapt shatterproof glass technology to watch crystals. Through an exhaustive research and development process, ArmourLite's team was successful in creating Armourglass, a revolutionary shatterproof crystal that far surpasses the durability of traditional crystals. Glass strength is rated in Vickers, a scale that measures the hardness of a material. Most watch crystals have a glass strength of 700 Vickers while Armourglass has been tested to a hardness of 6,000 Vickers.
The use of Armourglass resulted in ArmourLite becoming the world's first watch manufacturer to offer tritium-illuminated watches with shatterproof glass.
Armourglass is currently found in the following ArmourLite watches:
- ArmourLite Professional Series
- ArmourLite Automatic Series
- ArmourLite Colorburst Series
- ArmourLite Captain Field Series
"Armourglass provides the ultimate protection resulting in a truly durable and long lasting timekeeping instrument," explains Ashley Diener, CEO of ArmourLite Watch Company. "With Armourglass your watch can withstand the rigors of the most challenging environments."
To match the extraordinary strength of Armourglass, ArmourLite developed special 316L stainless steel housings and mated the two with a custom rubber retaining-ring that ensures superior shock resistance and watertight construction.
