Alcan and Boeing Enter Long-Term Aluminum Supply Agreement

Alcan has announced that it has signed a multi-year agreement with The Boeing Company to supply the aircraft manufacturer with a variety of high-performance aluminum products.

"We believe this agreement is a clear demonstration of a growing relationship between our companies, and we are very proud of Ravenswood’s successful continuation of cooperation with The Boeing Company," said Michel Jacques, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alcan Engineered Products following the signing of the agreement. "This contract is strategically important for Ravenswood as it represents a significant increase in its business and is a clear indication of the new initiatives underway to build a bright future for the plant," he added.

Under the agreement, Ravenswood would supply lightweight aluminum products primarily for Boeing's 737 and 777 commercial aircraft programs.

Ravenswood is one of the largest aluminum rolling mills in the world and produces high quality aluminum plate, coil and sheet products for the aerospace, aeronautical and transportation industries. The plant's innovative lightweight products make an important contribution to the further development of high-tech aerospace solutions, meeting customers’ evolving requirements for reduced manufacturing costs and optimum weight/performance ratios.
