Dow Corning Corporation, a leader in silicon-based solutions for inks, paints, and coatings, have launched a new siloxane-based additive. Called Dow Corning® 108F Additive, it can be used for controlling foam in low-to-medium-PVC water-based inks and coatings.
The 108F additive is a defoaming agent, intended to provide an optimized balance of foam control and compatibility in a large range of waterborne coatings and inks.
While Dow Corning 108F Additive can deliver excellent results in many waterborne paint and ink systems, it is designed especially for use in premium gloss applications – such as wood coatings, industrial coatings and inks – where its low tendency to cause craters or other surface defects is especially valuable.

The new additive product has minimal visible impact on the appearance of the surface, and is useful at low use levels. It has an emulsion format, which allows easy dosage and use.
The Dow Corning® 108F Additive is APEO-free with low-VOC, it is also ideal for indirect-food-contact applications.
Dow Corning offer a wide variety of additives for waterborne, solventless, solventborne, and radiation cure systems. Providing numerous benefits, the additives are compatible with a broad array of diluents and binder systems. They work best at low concentrations.
