From devices that detect infectious diseases to test kits that monitor diabetes and blood coagulation, the range of opportunities for hydrophilic adhesive technologies in medical devices is expanding as the demand for microfluidic biological tests increases. Leading the discussion on present and future innovations for hydrophilic adhesives will be Herb Hand, a Senior Scientist with over 24 years of chemistry experience at AR pioneering research on hydrophilic adhesives and coatings used in diagnostic devices.
“Hydrophilic technology continues to be used in a variety of medical devices including blood glucose and blood coagulation point-of-care, in-house and environmental test kits.” said Hand. “The future of hydrophilic tapes includes components in molecular diagnostic devices and devices for the discovery of infectious diseases.”
