Builders are quickly discovering a new wood-replacement exterior siding, global building materials wholesaler BuildDirect announced today. Thanks to an innovative manufacturing technique, the new fiber- cement siding has as a natural wood appearance that is far superior to previous wood- grain imitations.
“Homebuilders and other building contractors are already aware of the benefits of traditional fiber-cement siding,” said BuildDirect Siding Manager Glen Bonderud. “Now there’s a greatly enhanced fiber-cement siding product with a finish that looks and feels just like real wood.”
The new siding product is proving especially popular in regions where natural wood may attract termites, wood boring insects, or even woodpeckers.
“It’s so realistic only a woodpecker knows for sure,” jokes Bonderud, explaining the natural wood-grain appearance on the new product. “This siding has a unique finishing process that combines two-tone coloring with a textured grain pattern. The surface is truly indistinguishable from real wood,” said Bonderud, “and the finish won’t flake, blister or peel.”
The new fiber cement siding is now available through BuildDirect as an extension of the Hartland-brand quality fiber cement siding products. Builders can find Hartland’s Rustic Series fiber-cement siding available in four versatile color tones – Aspen Ridge, Evening Bark, River Bark, and Summer Wheat – meeting the design needs of any project.
