Sahaviriya Steel to Expand Steel Capacity

Thailand’s largest hot rolled steel producer Sahaviriya Steel Industries have just approved a 3.6 billion baht expansion project. Part of the 3.6 billion bath will also be used for refinancing of existing debt.

The expansion will see them boost their hot strip mill capacity to 3.2-4 million tonnes from a current level of 2.4 million tonnes per annum. They will also increase the range of products that they produce to encompass thicknesses from 1.1 to 19mm up from their existing range of 1.2-13mm.
