Praxair Licence CoJet Gas Injection System to Bao Steel

Praxair have just signed an agreement with China’s Bao Steel to licence their CoJet gas injection system. Bao Steel are China’s largest steel manufacturer and the worlds 3rd largest steel maker.

The gas injection system will be used in Bao Steel’s 150 ton twin shell electric arc furnace, the first of its kind, and largest electric arc furnace in China. It is due to commence operation in early 2004.

Under the terms of the agreement Praxair will supply CoJet system injectors, valve racks, carbon injection system and advanced automation control for both shells. The CoJet gas injection system is expected to deliver improvements in productivity, yield as well as plant operation and environmental compliance.
