Harriman Chemsult & CBI Shanghai have released an important new report "PVC in China 2006-2010" which explores the future for the PVC market in China and the impact of China's growing self-sufficiency on the PVC business worldwide. The report is published in two volumes totalling over 150 pages and including 53 tables and 53 figures/maps. It is supplied in joint hard-copy and CD forms.
The report focuses on PVC technology, capacity and supply, international trade, demand, pricing, and production costs and margins. In addition, Chinese market balances and major issues specific to China are examined. The report also includes a directory of Chinese PVC producers.
China has grown enormously in recent years to become the most important country in the global PVC market, with the largest capacity, output, imports and consumption, of any country in the world. China also demonstrates the highest rates of growth in PVC supply and demand. Because of these characteristics, China is so significant that its domestic issues have, directly or indirectly, a global impact: PVC players in all regions should have a thorough understanding of the dynamics of the Chinese market and its implications for them.
A major issue is China's ongoing drive to self-sufficiency in PVC, a process that should be virtually complete by 2010. In 2001, Chinese net PVC imports were over 2.4 million mt; by 2010, they will be just 0.1 million mt. This huge drop in demand from China has potentially massive ramifications for PVC trade patterns and markets on a global basis.
"This report is essential reading for anyone with an interest in the global PVC business, or planning to conduct business in China" says Stephen Harriman (Stephen(at)harriman.co.uk), Founder and Managing Director of Harriman Chemsult.
"We are proud to launch this outstanding report in co-operation with our respected partners, Chemease. We will soon provide details of other exciting China products in related sectors." Lyn Tattum (email protected from spam bots), Group Vice President, Access Intelligence Chemical Business Media.
