New Wine Carrier Packs from Amcor

Amcor announces the release of a new generation of wine carton packaging which will be officially launched at the Wine Industry Conference and WineTech trade show in Adelaide on July 29, 2007.

Unlike any other wine carton currently available, Amcor’s new VinPorter™ corrugated carton uses a patented one-piece design and perforation system to rapidly and safely transform into a branded sixbottle consumer carry pack.

Through researching the demands of the wine supply chain from production to the retail point of sale and all the way to the home of the consumer Amcor has developed a unique and innovative six-bottle wine pack that delivers enhanced functionality for brand owners, retailers and consumers.

Delivering a complete supply chain solution, VinPorter™ was specially developed for wine makers who wish to offer a six-bottle wine carton that provides enhanced wine range branding and improved retail display effectiveness. The new carry pack provides potential for a retail display that encourages consumers to “mix n’ match” a choice of similarly branded wines to increase multiple bottle purchases. VinPorter’s™ innovative design enables it to function as a shipper, point-of-sale display and consumer carry pack all-in-one and is suitable for use by Australian wine producers for both domestic and export shipment of wine bottles in 6-bottle cases.

Some of the key benefits of the VinPorter™ design include -

  • Excellent bottle protection during transit due to integrated divider and carry handle system;
  • Single handed carrying of open or unopened 6-bottle carton by consumers;
  • Inbuilt perforations enable floor standing retail display to be assembled faster without the need to cut open the box or unpack the bottles;
  • Replaces or complements retailer six-bottle cardboard or fabric carry packs with wine producer branded pack while still allowing consumers to mix and match multiple varieties;
  • Lower material usage and manufacturing cost than using a separate carry pack, reducing overall environmental impact of the pack, and
  • Able to be erected using conventional machinery and can be packed in existing wine filling facilities
