Chesapeake Corporation today announced that it has renamed its specialty chemical plastic packaging business Chesapeake Specialty Chemical Packaging. Formerly operating under the Boxmore Plastics trade name, the division supplies high-performance plastic packaging to the agrochemical, automotive, food and beverage, and general industrial end-use markets.
Chesapeake Specialty Chemical Packaging operates manufacturing plants in Crewe, England; St. Etienne, France; and Kunshan, China. Earlier this year Chesapeake announced its participation in a plastic packaging joint venture that is currently completing a new facility near Budapest, Hungary, which will serve agrochemical customers after the plant startup scheduled for later this year.
"We are excited about the future of Chesapeake Specialty Chemical Packaging as we look to expand our product range and customer base," said J.P. Morvan, managing director of Chesapeake Specialty Chemical Packaging. "During the last 12 months our division has invested in excess of 3 million Euros in new equipment and services. We are also looking at further joint ventures and new facilities to strengthen and extend our integrated network."
Chesapeake Specialty Chemical Packaging supplies both HDPE and PET containers in sizes ranging from 250 milliliters to 25 liters. Chesapeake offers a proprietary in-mold fluorinated blow-molding process that enhances HDPE container solvent barrier properties.
