LNM Make Offer for Poland’s Largest Steel Plate Maker

Global steel producer, The LNM Group who are the world’s second largest steel producers, have made an offer to privatise selected assets of Huta Czestochowa SA and the shares of Huta Czestochowa Sp z.o.o.

Huta Czestochowa is Poland’s largest producer of steel plate, producing over 700,000 metric tons of steel in 2002.

This offer follows on from LNM’s agreement to privatise Poland’s largest steel maker PHS, signed on October 27, 2003, and the announcement on October 28th, that they had also acquired Siderugica SA and Petrotub Roman SA.

LNM intend to improve the operating efficiency through strategic raw material purchasing via the LNM Group as well as use of their global marketing network.
