Open Workshop to Assist Companies Who Die Press Powders

Companies who die press powders have a unique opportunity to gain an overview of the results of some new research, which has enhanced current understanding of the technology.

‘Engineering the Green State of Powder Products’ is a major research project based at six leading UK universities with support from over 20 companies. It aims at improving our understanding of dry powder processing and die pressing. PowdermatriX, which is based at CERAM, Stoke on Trent, is holding an open industrial workshop on Thursday 27th September.

The research groups will give a series of presentations that will cover topics such as segregation and flowability during subsequent handling of powder blends and their delivery to the forming press, filling of the die cavity from the powder shoe, modelling of compaction and ejection and issues specifically related to the die pressing of nano-scale powders.

This event will also provide opportunities to meet with the researchers involved in the project.

In addition, all delegates will be provided with a CD of all presentations at the workshop, hard copy summary reports from each research group and best practice guidance documents.

You can register for the event on the PowdermatriX website – www.powdermatrix.org or by contacting Ann Barratt at [email protected]
