The TrailSkate™ all-terrain skate's innovative design features a rugged chassis – essentially a ski on wheels – molded from a new super-strong DuPont™ Zytel® HTN high performance polyamide resin.
The resin serves a wide range of needs for parts requiring an exceptional combination of strength, stiffness and impact resistance – regardless of atmospheric moisture conditions.
"The TrailSkate™ has tremendous cross-training appeal to a large cross-section of recreational enthusiasts including: downhill and cross-country skiers, water skiers, snowboarders, skateboarders, in-line skaters, mountain bikers, runners and hikers," said Pat Gates, president and founder of GateSkate, Inc.
"The combination of air-tires, a rugged, flexible chassis and adjustable boot-binding system provide an extremely smooth low-impact ride that delivers an excellent aerobic exercise for men and women alike," he said.
By combining the benefits of DuPont™ Zytel® HTN with the benefits of long-glass reinforcement in the chassis – improved fatigue performance, impact resistance and surface appearance – DuPont delivered a resin that met all critical design requirements.
