Uponor to Close German Pipe Plant

As part of its 2004 restructuring programme, Finnish company Uponor will close its composite pipe factory in Ahlen, Germany.

Uponor’s plant in Zella-Mehlis will now become the centre of their composite pipe production activities. Capacity from Ahlen, and their Spanish plant in Mostoles will be transferred there by the end of June.

The Spanish, Mostoles plant will continue to operate but will focus on production of PEX-a pipes for underfloor heating and tap water. Production of PEX-b tap water pipes and corrugated pipes will also be discontinued at the Mostoles plant.
