What is benchtop NMR for and why use it?

Benchtop NMR is a powerful and compact tool used across chemistry research and for quality and process control in industrial manufacturing.

This webinar introduces the concepts of both cryogen free benchtop NMR spectroscopy and time domain NMR relaxometry. We will highlight the advantages provided compared to other complementary analytical techniques for different use cases. Practical case studies from R&D to process development and manufacturing scale-up across industries including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and battery research will be shared.

Key learning objectives:

  • Quick interpretation of a simple 1D NMR spectrum to identify molecular structure
  • How to setup a basic NMR experiment
  • Practical applications of NMR spectroscopy and TD-NMR in various industries
  • How and why benchtop NMR can support or replace complementary methods

About the webinar speakers:

Raj is an Application Scientist at Oxford Instruments based out of Pleasanton, California. Raj completed his PhD in organic chemistry from Brown University where he worked on synthesis and NMR characterisation of supramolecular dyes.

Wendy is an Application Scientist based out of Concord, Massachusetts. She is completing her PhD in Materials Chemistry where she worked on synthesis and characterization of mixed-metal Dion-Jacobson Perovskites.

Sheida is an Application Scientist based out of Wiesbaden, Germany. She got her PhD in inorganic chemistry from the Georg-August Göttingen University where she worked on the synthesis and characterization of molecular ruthenium-based complexes and their application as water oxidation catalysts.
