Chinmay Saraf is a science writer based in Indore, India. His academic background is in mechanical engineering, and he has extensive experience in fused deposition-based additive manufacturing. His research focuses on post-processing methods for fused deposition modeling to improve mechanical and electrical properties of 3D printed parts. He has also worked on composite 3D printing, bioprinting, and food printing technologies.
Chinmay holds an M.Tech. in computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing and is passionate about 3D printing, new product development, material science, and sustainability. He also has a keen interest in "Frugal Designs" to improve the existing engineering systems.
As a technical writer, Chinmay has written for several magazines and blogs on a wide range of topics, and for several scientific communities focused on scientific studies and observations. He aspires to research products that enhance features in additive manufacturing technology in the future. Being passionate about sustainability, he also desires to connect sustainability with the grassroots level. He is connected with several societies and clubs for plantation, plastic waste recovery, and E-waste disposal to fulfill this purpose.
Chinmay also conducts magical science workshops in schools and demonstrates enchanting experiments to junior grade students to help connect them to the fantastic world of science and understand its basics.
Meditation helps him stay positive, compassionate and energizes him throughout the day. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening and dining out. He enjoys discussing new gardening ideas with friends and family.
