DuPont Primers Receive Approval from Daimler Trucks Following Rigorous Testing

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has approved DuPont CorMax® VI and ElectroShield 21 cathodic epoxy electrodeposition primers for use on all DTNA truck bodies and parts. DTNA brands include Freightliner, Sterling and Western Star.

The Freightliner Cascadia uses DuPont coatings.

The DTNA approval process is rigorous and requires testing of more than 1,000 laboratory and field-produced panels. Success resulted from an intensive "One DuPont" effort from many DuPont technical and field personnel at various locations throughout North America.

CorMax® VI and ElectroShield 21 products provide “best in class” corrosion and chemical resistance, and serve as suitable primers for "Class A" topcoat finishes.

“These approvals further strengthen DuPont as the leading coatings supplier to the North American heavy duty truck market,” said Joseph Wood, sales & marketing manager, DuPont CoatingSolutions, North America. “This confirms that DuPont CoatingSolutions can deliver all liquid and powder coating technologies.”

DuPont has been awarded business as a Freightliner parts supplier. As a result of these approvals, additional business is pending.
