ANGUS Chemical Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, introduces an enhanced primary amine, AEPD™ VOX 1000 Multifunctional Amine for interior water-based paints to the Asia Pacific paint and coatings market during the Asia Pacific Coatings Show, June 24-26.
AEPD VOX 1000 has a non-VOC designation in Asia Pacific, making it an excellent choice as a multifunctional amine for VOC-free paints in this region. Low odor, high boiling point, non-yellowing characteristic, and low vapor pressure are additional key benefits of AEPD VOX 1000.
Chemically similar to the ANGUS flagship product, AMP™ Co-dispersant and Neutralizing Amine (2-Amino-2-methyl-1-propanol), AEPD VOX 1000 demonstrates similar functionality. However, it exhibits an additional hydroxyl functional group, which allows for increased open time and wet-edge improvements without lowering the scrub resistance.
Currently available in many regions throughout Asia Pacific, AEPD VOX 1000 Multifunctional Amine was developed in response to customer demand for a product that would help formulators meet local restrictions on VOC content.
"Government regulations and consumer concerns have led to increased demand for low VOC and VOC-free paints and finishes," said Liam Doherty, global marketing manager for ANGUS Chemical Company. "The multifunctional amine technology available from ANGUS is already an enabling technology. AEPD VOX 1000 will help our customers formulate low VOC and VOC-free paints and finishes without compromising the quality of their product offering."
ANGUS will present a paper titled Lower Odour & VOC in Architectural Paints at 9:30 am on Wednesday, June 25 during the show at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. This presentation will further highlight the benefits of AEPD VOX 1000, discuss the multifunctional advantages of AMP and provide a more in-depth overview of the local resources and challenge-testing capabilities ANGUS can provide to paint and coatings customers throughout Asia Pacific.
