DHL, the world's leading express delivery and logistics company, today announced it has signed a two-year agreement with Amphenol PCD, a world market leader in electronic modules and connectors for commercial and military applications.
DHL was selected as the exclusive provider of international shipping services for Amphenol PCD to improve its global supply chain and speed shipments to the U.S. from its global manufacturing and supply bases overseas.
Amphenol PCD is the Industrial/Avionics Division of PCD Inc, which supplies avionic relay sockets and junction modules and is the leading US manufacturer of pluggable terminal blocks and interface modules for industrial applications that are used in aircraft, helicopters and military vehicles.
"Our supply chain extends to nearly every region of the world, so we rely on strong global providers that help us shorten the time to-market, contain costs and provide added value for our customers," said Ritchie Lacson, North America Operations Manager at Amphenol PCD. "DHL is the only shipping carrier that has been able to provide a reliable and seamless door-to-door express delivery service to and from every region of the world in which we operate."
In addition to providing Import Express services to the U.S. from China, Europe, India, and other locations in the Far East, DHL provides international express services to and from Mexico for Amphenol PCD.
DHL has also customized a third party shipping system for all Amphenol locations, including its vendor partners, to process shipments electronically to and from every region of the world for all of Amphenol's global shipping requirements.
"As the specialists in international shipping, DHL can help U.S. companies like Amphenol PCD keep their global suppliers within reach by using fast, reliable shipping services that leverage an extensive global network and people who have intimate knowledge of local customs," said Charles Brewer, Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Northeast Region, DHL Express.
