Special-Lite's revised Testing Summary brochure highlights the important performance tests its popular, high-performance SL-17 Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester (FRP) Flush Doors have passed. The tests cover both industry standard tests conducted by third party laboratories and proprietary tests designed to evaluate real world performance. The update also includes a new section on tests that demonstrate the SL-17 model's relevance for sustainable construction projects.
In addition to test results reviewed in the original brochure, the update includes the following severe test protocols:
- 5 million cycle-slam test (NWWDA T.M. 7-90)
- Hurricane-rating and Florida approval (TAS 201, TAS, 202, TAS 203, #FL9875)
- Blast resistance protection (ASTM F1642-04)
The brochure also details two proprietary tests that Special-Lite conducts on its door models. An impact test evaluates how Special-Lite FRP Flush Doors' lightweight and flexible design helps them stand up to high impact forces even when the door is blocked open. An exposure test confirms product fade-resistance and ability to withstand thermal extremes.
