ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH has sold its manufacturing plant for insulated doors in Pansdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, effective February 1, 2010. The plant mainly produces hinged and sliding doors for cold and freezer rooms as well as numerous custom fabrications. The purchaser is the newly formed company ems Isoliertüren GmbH.
Sole proprietor and managing director of the company is Wilhelm Dück, who previously worked as plant manager at the Pansdorf site. ems Isoliertüren GmbH will continue to operate with its current workforce. As part of the transaction 37 employees will transfer to the new company. The product range will continue to be marketed under the established ems-isolier brand, which will also be used for the cold room sandwich panels supplied by ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH. A production line for flashings also situated at the site is not part of the deal but will be relocated to the manufacturing plant of ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH in Oldenburg.
The disposal marks another step in the streamlining of ThyssenKrupp's business portfolio. The new ownership structure is ideally suited to the requirements of the door market, which is dominated by small and medium size companies. "We are convinced that we have found an owner who will be able to manage the door business successfully in the future. We congratulate Mr. Dück on his new business start-up and wish him and his employees all the best," says Dr. Horst Dieter Schulz, managing director of ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH.
