High Speed Imaging Products for manufacturing Operations

With imaging becoming an increasingly important component of manufacturing technology, STEMMER IMAGING will be showing the new BOA smart camera for End Users, Vision Integrators and OEMs, together with the latest high speed cameras from Optronis for process and machinery analysis.

High speed imaging is not only important for identifying faulty product on high-speed production lines but also in applications as diverse as process analysis in machine building, optimisation of production workflow, material testing, research and development, combustion and crash test and explosive testing.

The BOA range of smart vision systems from DALSA is now available for colour imaging. With a full suite of built-in vision tools and measurement capabilities, BOA is a fully self-contained inspection system, ideally suited to an extensive range of tasks such as positioning, identification, code reading, verification, measurement and flaw detection. The colour version of BOA is the latest milestone for this impressive range of products, since colour provides additional visual information that can be critical in many manufacturing industries such as the automotive industry. With a small, 44 mm cube form factor and an IP67 rated housing, BOA can be mounted both where space is limited and in harsh environmental conditions.

The latest high speed colour and monochrome cameras from Optronis feature high resolution, 4 megapixel image sensors, with the flexibility to reduce the size of the exposed sensor area to increase the frame rate. Built-in 'Ultraformat' image processing takes sub-pixel information and combines it with information from surrounding pixels to enhance the appearance of the images. This is particularly useful for very high speed imaging where only a small region of the image sensor is used. Optronis cameras also feature a massive 16 MB of on-board memory, which allows very long recording times for operation even at very low light levels. Several image sequences can be acquired separating the memory into several partitions. After the acquisition each sequence can be viewed or downloaded independently.
