Chemir Offers New Custom Chemical Synthesis Service

Custom synthesis, the production of organic molecules for research and development, is a new service offering by Chemir Analytical Services.

Innovators looking to create original formulated products may need to hire a laboratory to develop new chemical compounds. Chemir provides organic synthesis of compounds from the milligram to kilogram scale, assisting in the creation of innovative products in plastics, polymer, coatings, agrochemicals, chemicals and more.

"The custom chemical synthesis group has already helped several Chemir clients with developing innovative coating and polymer materials," says Eric Uffman, Ph.D., Vice President Technology, Chemir Analytical Services. "This new service complements our ability to provide deformulation (reverse engineering) and support product development. It also assists our customers with chemical patent and intellectual property issues" continues Dr. Uffman.

Chemir's chemical synthesis team, established in 1995, was formerly known as Gateway Chemical Technology and more recently as IQsynthesis. The group recently relocated to Chemir's laboratories in Maryland Heights, MO.

The team's wide custom synthesis experience also includes specialty and fine chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates and new chemical entities (including analogs, cold-labeled analogs, impurities, degradants, metabolites and bioorganic compounds), scaffolding for combinatorial chemistry in 1-100g scale, polymer synthesis (Anionic, Cationic and Ziegler-Natta Catalysis), analytical standards (certified by Chemir) and controlled substances (DEA Schedule I-IV). Additional services include novel route design, literature synthesis, basic building block chemistries, multi-step reaction schemes, and process research including design and scale-up.
