SUSTARIN C Copolymer Acetal from Modern Plastics Ideal for Wet or Moist Environments

Modern Plastics offers SUSTARIN® C (Acetal), a general-purpose copolymer acetal that is porosity-free, manufactured by ROCHLING Engineering Plastics.

The technology used in Modern Plastics' manufacturing process ensures that every sheet and rod are free of centerline or core porosity. SUSTARIN® C is easily machined with excellent dimensional stability for close tolerance parts. A low coefficient of friction and excellent wear properties, especially in wet or moist environments, make it easy to see why SUSTARIN® C is one of the most widely used engineering thermoplastics available today.

SUSTARIN® C (Acetal) properties:

  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Continuous use temperature of 180°F
  • Porosity-free
  • Consistent properties in wet or moist environments
  • Very low moisture absorption
  • Excellent electrical properties
  • Easy to machine to close tolerances
  • Natural and black are FDA- and USDA-compliant

"SUSTARIN® C (Acetal) typical applications include bushings, bearings, rollers, gears, valves, manifolds, scraper blades, wear strips, fixtures and electrical components," said Bing J. Carbone, President of Modern Plastics.

He added, "This extraordinary-quality, porosity-free acetal product conforms to ASTM POM 0211, D6778, FDA21 CFR 177.2470 and is USDA-compliant."

Modern Plastics is offering a FREE 1-foot sample of 1.000" diameter white rod for hands-on evaluation.
