Innovalight, Motech Industries Join to Develop High Performance Solar Cells Using Silicon Ink

Innovalight, Inc., a privately-held company that provides proprietary technologies and materials for the production of high efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells, announced today that it signed an agreement with Motech Industries, Inc. ("Motech") to develop high performance solar cells using silicon ink manufactured by Innovalight.

Motech is a pioneer in the manufacturing and marketing of high-quality single and multicrystalline silicon solar cells in Taiwan. Motech, which reached a gigawatt in production capacity in the third quarter of 2010, is the largest solar cell manufacturer in Taiwan and one of the top ten manufacturers worldwide in terms of production capacity and output.

Innovalight manufactures a proprietary nanotechnology-based silicon ink and licenses a platform process which allows an upgrade to solar cell manufacturing production lines to boost performance of solar cells and lower production costs.

"Motech is an important partner for Innovalight," said Boris Mathiszik, vice president of worldwide sales for Innovalight. "We are very excited to work together with Motech to advance high performance solar products," he added.
