Jan 20 2011
2011 is EMO year. After a four-year gap, the premier trade fair for the world’s metalworking sector is being held once again in Hannover, from 19 to 24 September 2011.
International manufacturers of production technology are eagerly awaiting this event, with demand concomitantly high.
At the beginning of the year, 1,500 exhibitors from 36 different countries had already registered, occupying a new exhibition area of around 140,000 m.
"We’re extremely gratified by the flood of inquiries", says Dr. Detlev Elsinghorst, General Commissioner of EMO Hannover 2011. It shows, he continues, that production technology manufacturers worldwide are once again very optimistic about the ongoing year. As in the past, manufacturers are once again hoping for investment to be significantly boosted at the EMO in Hannover. "Following the severe crisis for our sector in the past two years, thus can by no means be taken for granted", adds Elsinghorst.
As the world’s premier trade fair for the metalworking sector, the EMO Hannover 2011 once again scores highly in terms of international presence: more than half of the exhibitors so far registered are from outside Germany. Vendors of production technology from all over the world appreciate the EMO Hannover as the premier platform for showing the flag on the global market.
For trade visitors and production experts, Elsinghorst is predicting a veritable Eldorado of innovations and new technical solutions. He is quite certain that the EMO Hannover will once again live up to its reputation in this field as well. After all, manufacturers of technology for metalworking applications everywhere in the world have ground to make up. "Many vendors have utilised the downturn period to develop new products and services", reports Elsinghorst. They want to hit the ground running, and are using the EMO in Hannover for this purpose. Customers are focusing, for example, on issues like exceptionally flexible machinery concepts, creative service capabilities, sustainability in production operations or intelligent, customised production solutions, to name only a few keywords. All this will be on show at EMO Hannover under the slogan "More than machine tools".
Experience has shown that by the official deadline for registration around three-quarters of the exhibitors are already on board. "New inquires are arriving everyday, though", says Elsinghorst. Against this background, he expects that the EMO Hannover 2011 will achieve the same order of magnitude and quality as in the boom year of 2007. Back then, 2,120 exhibitors showcased their corporate capabilities on around 180,200 m of net exhibition area, attracting 166,500 trade visitors from 80 different countries.
