Unconquered Sun Solar Uses FLEXcon’s Backsheets in its Newly Certified Solar Module

FLEXcon, a leading manufacturer of pressure-sensitive films, today announced that its backsheets are being used by Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies as part of a newly certified solar module.

Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies is an Ontario-based manufacturer of premium lightweight photovoltaic panels, engineered with the rugged North American climate in mind. With a focus on quality and performance, Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies will incorporate FLEXcon multiGUARD® KPE into their photovoltaic panels. FLEXcon’s backsheets also meet UL approval.

FLEXcon’s product allows Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies to comply with the Ontario FIT and microFIT programs, which supports renewable energy projects and provides a streamlined way to connect a project and receive payment for the electricity produced. In addition, it will send it to the province’s electricity distribution system, also known as "the grid.”

Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies will incorporate FLEXcon multiGUARD® KPE W12 backsheet into its 220, 230 and 240 Watt Windsor Series™ modules. The introduction of the newly certified Windsor Series™ product line is part of a multi-phased expansion designed to satisfy the increased demand for Ontario made solar panels, a key requirement for all FIT and microFIT contracts.

“FLEXcon’s backsheets are a key component in the manufacturing of our solar panels. As a result of working with FLEXcon, we are now certified to proceed with filling commercial orders under the FIT and microFIT Programs and support green energy initiatives,” said Sean Moore, CEO of Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies. “We’re excited to grow our organization and work with FLEXcon’s collaborative team, and will continue to benefit from their focus on quality and unmatched customer service.”

“FLEXcon’s half a century of experience in developing adhesives and laminates, has allowed us to transfer that knowledge and innovation into the development of backsheets for solar panels,” said Michelle Ostiguy, Market Development Specialist, FLEXcon. “We’re excited to work with Unconquered Sun Solar Technologies to help them meet compliance and deliver the best quality solar panel products in the market.”
