Producer of organic photovoltaic modules, Heliatek has selected Dr. Schenk SolarInspect metrology systems for its organic photovoltaic manufacturing line.
The two roll-to-roll metrology systems will be delivered and incorporated into Heliatek’s first production line at the modular plant in Dresden, Germany during the mid of 2011.
Heliatek’s selection of the SolarInspect RollToRoll Metrology Systems was based on their successful sample analysis at Dr. Schenk’s Planegg facility. The highly flexible systems can be positioned at different places in the production line, enabling thorough analysis of Heliatek’s various processing stages. Such analysis is critical to obtain process optimization and enhancement in the production procedure.
The roll-to-roll production process of highly adaptable organic photovoltaics offers an economical production method and paves the way for new fields of applications. As per the medium-term policy, Heliatek will concentrate on emerging industries such as automotive, industrial roofing and building integration photovoltaics. The organic photovoltaic modules are lightweight, economical and offer new form factors to these industries.
Dr. Schenk offers metrology and inspection systems for thin-film photovoltaic modules of all types of generations and technologies such as DCS, OPV, aSi/µSi, CIS/CIGS and CdTe.
