Ashland Performance Materials, a commercial division of Ashland, will display a model house made from composite materials at the JEC Composites Show to be held in Paris from 29 to 31 March 2011.
The novel model house demonstrates the use of composite applications in house construction.
The house, placed at stall D-13, incorporates roof trusses, patio doors, structural walls, window trim, skylights and other parts made of composite materials produced by Ashland. Other composite materials such as recycled glass table, propane gas fuel cylinder, shower surround and solid surface countertops are also included in the model. The display house will provide endless possibilities of utilizing composite materials in various applications of building construction.
The company intends to showcase its complete range of products and solutions for marine, transportation and wind power markets. It will also display its Derakane epoxy vinyl ester resins meant for fire-retardant and corrosion-resistant uses. The Derakane 610C-200 epoxy vinyl ester resin is exclusively formulated for structural fiberglass reinforced polymer applications that need higher level of fire resistance such as beams, columns and bridges.
