Coatings solutions provider, PPG Industries announced that Boeing has included PPG’s aerospace business product, DESOPRIME CF/CA 7502 epoxy primer into its list of qualified products for meeting the BMS 10-72 (Revision Y) Exterior Decorative Paint standard.
With this qualification, the DESOPRIME CF/CA 7502 chromate-free primer now becomes a comprehensive sustainable PPG Aerospace coatings solution for airlines, third-party painters and subcontractors.
The Global Segment Manager for original-equipment coatings at PPG Aerospace, Kevin Brooks commented that the DESOPRIME CF/CA 7502 offers high corrosion resistance as it features PPG’s patented corrosion-resistance package. By using this primer, paint shops can decrease waste disposal expenditures and environmental problems, he added.
PPG Aerospace now supplies an extensive range of BMS 10-72-qualifed, sustainable exterior coating solutions, including DESOGEL(TM) EAP-9 metal pretreatment and DESOTHANE(R) HS topcoat.
Brooks said that PPG Aerospace is dedicated to offer sustainable products to the aerospace industry that demand stringent specifications and aesthetic appeal. He further said that Boeing certification is a major factor for commercializing the DESOPRIME CF/CA 7502 epoxy primer. With this certification, customers can specify the product as it fulfills all the required performance criteria of Boeing, he added.
